The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the elected corporate body of people who have responsibility for the care, maintenance and
insurance of the church. It's objectives are to promote the religion of the
church and to make provision for public worship. As such, it has a charitable
status and is a separate legal entity.
The Responsibilities, Rights and Duties of the PCC include:
- The care and maintenance of the
church, its contents and its churchyard;
- The keeping of proper
accounting records of the financial affairs of the church;
- Rights in relation to church
appointments;
- Rights in relation to church
services.
Function.
The overall function of the PCC is to co-operate with the minister in promoting in the parish the whole mission of the church, pastoral, evangelical, social and ecumenical.
